Kathy is a native to the San Diego area. She began her career in the veterinary field in 1999. She obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2009. Her experience ranges from shelter medicine, specialty surgery, general practice, hospice, integrative medicine, and rehabilitation. She became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2018 through the University of Tennessee. Her special interests are neurology, pain management and integrative care.
Kathy has two handicapped pets at home, adopted after they had hemi-laminectomy surgery. Ella was the dog that ‘changed everything for her’ and started her adventure in rehabilitation. Ella’s recovery was considered unlikely with a questionable prognosis after surgery. Through rehabilitation, acupuncture, LASER therapy and love, she is able to walk again. Their journey was so life changing that they adopted another handicapped dog a couple years later. Buddy requires a bit more assistance, but can often be found enjoying the underwater treadmill.
Kathy also has other dogs, horses, cats and chickens. She is currently working on additional certifications in rehabilitation as well.
