Visiting Your Pet at Mass Vet

When you first walk through the door at Mass Vet, the first impression can be overwhelming. There are pet owners everywhere, staff zooming in and out off to help the next person, and pets patiently waiting for their care. For those who have a pet needing to stay overnight in the hospital, the anxiety of leaving their sick or injured furry friend in the care of another can be quite difficult. Visits with family can also be therapeutic for your pet and is an important aspect of the healing process. For these reasons, we encourage pet owners to visit their fur-babies while they are here in our care.

Some pets are not well enough to leave their “hospital bed” in our ICU, so our trained staff will accompany owners to the patient care areas to spend some time with their little ones. Other pets who are on the mend are able to take advantage of our visiting lounge, designed specifically to provide owners with a comfortable and homey space to spend some private, quality time with them. This room allows pet parents to feel as though they are in the comfort of their own living room. We’ve even caught some of them taking a cat-nap on our comfy couch!

To safely transport our feline friends to and from the visiting lounge, we even have the “Mass Vet Trolley,” a pet stroller designed to completely enclose a small pet without the anxiety of being carried or placed in a carrier. It also works well for small dogs having a hard time cruising around…you can see from the picture to the right, Bugsy gives his stamp of approval!

As pet-lovers ourselves we understand the importance of spending time with your own. We hope not to see you in our visiting lounge, but know that when you need us we’ll be here.
