EXTERNSHIPS
Our externships are tailored for veterinary students seeking practical experience in Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Medicine. Whether you are looking to earn credits or immerse yourself in our hospital culture, our placements span 2-4 weeks and offer valuable experience and learning opportunities.

ER Immerse
Whether you’re a new graduate or just new to emergency medicine, ER Immerse will provide you with the foundation for a successful and exciting career in the ER.
ER ABVP
Elevate your career with board-certification through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). Our non-residency path to diplomate status offers two distinct options tailored to meet you where you are, empowering you to achieve your emergency career goals.

ER Immerse Nursing
This program provides the guidance and hands-on training needed to build your confidence and succeed in the veterinary ER.
Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) Program
This program combines flexible online training with practical, hands-on experience— and it’s available to all Ethos team members at no cost!
Veterinary Education Sponsorship
The Veterinary Education Sponsorship Program was created to provide talented employees with continuing education and career growth opportunities. The program gives our hospitals the ability to select interested candidates and pay for a part or all of their veterinary education in exchange for an employment agreement after program completion.
Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) Mentorship
Our VTS mentorship program provides support and mentorship for those preparing for and going through the VTS application process. This program also includes development opportunities for those who have completed the VTS process and are ready to see where their new certification can take them.
Continuing education opportunities for all members of the veterinary healthcare team:
- RECOVER Certification (BLS, ALS, Rescuer)
- Fear Free Certifications
- RACE Approved Live Continuing Education (CE) Webinars: Several live CE sessions are held each month and are available for all team members. Topics vary each month so there is sure to be something of interest to all.
