Dr. Vida is a graduate of the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where he obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a small animal medical and surgical internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego, CA before returning to UC Davis to complete a residency in small animal surgery. He then worked as a clinical instructor in the surgery department at UC Davis before entering private practice in the Sacramento area. Dr. Vida’s special interests cruciate ligament disease (TPLO, CBLO, Arthrex TightRope system), limb deformities, vascular anomalies, oncologic surgery and minimally invasive surgery such as arthroscopy, thoracoscopy and laparoscopy. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgery.
During his free time, Dr. Vida enjoys almost all outdoor activities including running, biking, skiing, hiking, kayaking and scuba. He is particularly attached to his 200-gallon reef tank and spends as much time as possible with his wife, kids and pets.
