DVMResidency Trained in Neurology

Dr. John Gagnepain completed his residency training in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Missouri. He has extensive clinical training in all aspects of veterinary neurology, neuroimaging, and neurosurgery. His special interests include treatment of intervertebral disc disease and idiopathic epilepsy. Dr. Gagnepain prioritizes communicating closely with you and your veterinarian to provide comprehensive care to your pets.
Dr. John Gagnepain is originally from South Carolina, and received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University. He then received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Following graduation, he was a general practitioner in Athens, Georgia. While he enjoyed general practice, he developed a passion for neurology and began training to specialize in the field. He completed an internship at the University of Florida followed by a Neurology internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego. He is excited to return to Southern California following his residency at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Gagnepain holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Missouri. He enjoys providing continuing education to general practitioners and veterinary nurses, as well as participating in the training of veterinary students.
