Dr. Dana Connell received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Master’s of Public Health from the University of Florida. Following a small animal surgery and medicine internship at Auburn University, Dr. Connell began a three-year oncology residency at the University of Illinois. During this residency she received specialty training in the diagnosis and treatment of canine and feline cancers. There she received a Master’s of Science and successfully became boarded in Medical Oncology. Her clinical interests include hematopoietic malignancies such as lymphoma, bone cancers such as osteosarcoma, and client communication. She chose to specialize in oncology because it is a perfect combination of all the things she loves in veterinary medicine: diagnostic workups, imaging, client communication, and helping patients maintain excellent quality of life.
