Technically an Illinois “native”, having been born in Evanston, Dr. Benjamin Rivard spent his formative years growing up on the seacoast of Maine and mountains of New Hampshire, before returning to Evanston for his undergraduate education at Northwestern University. After living and working in Chicago for five years after graduation, Dr. Rivard attended and graduated from the University of Illinois in 2017 with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, and subsequently completed his small animal rotating internship at a busy private practice referral and specialty hospital in Denver, CO. He then completed a residency in diagnostic imaging at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, and earned board certification as a specialist in veterinary diagnostic imaging in 2021. Following board certification, Dr. Rivard stayed at Cornell for one year as an attending radiologist, before relocating “back home” to Chicago in July 2022 to join the team at Premier – Chicago and start the in-house Radiology service.
Dr. Rivard has a special clinical and research interest in neuroimaging and ultrasound, and is passionate about all aspects and modalities of veterinary diagnostic imaging. Dr. Rivard is thrilled to offer diagnostic imaging services to Chicagoland pets, owners, and local referring veterinarians.
