More Than a Conference: Advancing Learning, Research, and Connection at ACVIM

June 29, 2026

ACVIM Forum is always one of the biggest moments of the year for specialty veterinary medicine, and this year, Ethos showed up in a big way.

From nationally recognized speakers and new initiatives shaping specialty training to well-attended networking events and meaningful recruiting conversations, ACVIM reflected the many ways Ethos contributes to the future of specialty care.

As a Gold Sponsor of this year’s conference in Seattle, Ethos was present across education, research, recruitment, and community building, connecting with specialists, residents, nurses, and colleagues, while creating opportunities across the booth, lounges, and Bark Park to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and showcase the depth of expertise across its network.

Speakers from across Ethos, Ethos Science, and Ethos Discovery

Ethos clinicians, nurses, researchers, and scientists shared expertise across a wide range of topics, including internal medicine, emergency and critical care, cardiology, oncology, nursing, comparative research, and emerging veterinary technologies.

Ethos had 9 speakers from across the network, including Tracy Hill, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM), helping showcase the breadth of expertise. Ethos Discovery and Ethos Science were also well represented, reinforcing their role in advancing clinical research and helping shape the future of veterinary medicine.

On-demand courses are still available through October. Click here to watch.

Veterinary Internal Medicine Competency Framework Survey

ACVIM also marked the launch of the Veterinary Internal Medicine Competency Framework Survey, an Ethos initiative in partnership with ACVIM diplomates to help define core competencies and support a more competency-based approach to residency training.

ACVIM diplomates and current residents in accredited internal medicine residency programs are encouraged to share their perspectives. Click here to take a 15-minute survey.

Creating spaces to connect

One of the busiest spots of the week? The Ethos booth.

With a line that wrapped around the booth, attendees waited for custom-engraved personal clippers, creating a steady stream of opportunities to connect around medicine, mentorship, careers, and the work happening across the Ethos network.

Ethos also sponsored the Candidate Lounge and Technician Lounge, giving attendees a place to recharge, grab a snack box, and reconnect between sessions. The Technician Lounge celebrated newly pinned 2026 Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS) with a recognition gift.

In partnership with SAGE Veterinary Centers and a local rescue organization, Ethos co-sponsored the Bark Park puppy area, offering attendees time with adoptable puppies between sessions.

Strengthening community and future connections

Ethos hosted a dedicated event for residents, with a recruiter bingo card activity that helped connect names to faces and encouraged continued conversations throughout the week.

The Talent Attraction team hosted an invitation-only event for diplomates, creating a more relaxed, conversation-focused experience that has already led to meaningful introductions and ongoing opportunity discussions.

Thank you to the teams who made it happen

What stood out most at ACVIM wasn’t just the activity, it was the way Ethos showed up.

Thank you to the clinicians, nurses, researchers, recruiters, event teams, and leaders who represented Ethos throughout the week. Because of them, Ethos showed up in a way that reflected the strength of its network and its ongoing commitment to advancing veterinary medicine.
