Ethos Discovery named semi-finalist for AKC Canine Health Foundation’s Canine Health Discovery of the Year Award
November 4, 2025Ethos Discovery has been recognized as one of eight semi-finalists for the AKC Canine Health Foundation’s inaugural Canine Health Discovery of the Year Award, celebrating groundbreaking research shaping the future of canine health.
Ethos Discovery’s landmark PUSH Study, led by Chand Khanna, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (Oncology), DACVP, Jake Cawley, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology), and Sam Stewart, DVM, DACVECC, followed nearly 500 dogs with splenic tumors and uncovered a surprising truth: many of these tumors are benign, not malignant as once believed. This breakthrough is transforming how veterinarians approach diagnosis and treatment, helping spare countless dogs and their families from unnecessary fear, procedures, and loss.
The recognition places Ethos Discovery alongside top research institutions such as Cornell, Tufts, and the University of Illinois, highlighting its leadership in advancing science that benefits animals and humans.
What’s next
