Medical Collaboration is Key to Improving Patient Outcomes
NVA Compassion-First specialty + ER veterinary hospitals attract top minds at the forefront of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. In an effort to propel medicine forward while supporting our teams and fostering their professional growth, we created the Medical Directors Advancement Council (MDAC). Bringing together the medical leadership from each of our 80+ hospitals across the country, the MDAC focuses on collaborating professionally, discussing our stance on current events taking place in the veterinary community, and defining NVA Compassion-First’s medical path forward.
The MDAC is led by Stacy Burdick, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), and Clinical Advisor to NVA Compassion-First.
The MDAC acts as an “arm” of NVA Compassion-First by communicating online weekly and meeting in person regularly. Together, they lead our inspiring environment of constant professional development and collaboration. Through the MDAC, our doctors are able to easily and quickly reach their peers from across the country to collaborate and ask medical and hospital operational questions on best practices. This open line of communication has allowed our hospitals to not only improve patient care but also to learn new and efficient ways to treat pets and manage their hospitals.
