John G. Hintermeister

DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)Director of Medical Operations, Central Region

About

Dr. John G. Hintermeister is originally from Preemption, IL a small farming town near the Quad-Cities where his father was a mixed animal veterinarian for 33 years. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Geography in 1991. In 1995, he obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. After three years in private practice, Dr. Hintermeister returned to the University of Illinois and completed a Residency of Medical Oncology in 2001. Dr. Hintermeister obtained Board Certification in Medical Oncology in 2008.

After several years in private specialty clinical practice, Dr. Hintermeister joined the staff of Premier Veterinary Group as a staff Oncologist in 2010 and currently serves as the Regional Medical Director for Ethos Veterinary Health.

Dr. Hintermeister is married to a veterinarian, has a son and daughter along with several rescued dogs and cats.  In his spare time, he regularly attends CrossFit classes, is continually learning all things investing and personal finance, and seemingly always has a household project.
