About
Dr. Joel Alsup graduated with his DVM from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine before completing a small animal medicine and surgery internship at West LA Medical Group in Los Angeles, California. He completed a small animal surgery residency at the University of Illinois and then transitioned to a staff surgeon position. In 1997, he passed the ACVS Examination and has spent a total of 26 years working as a staff surgeon for various hospitals across the United States. Over the years, Dr. Alsup has developed a special interest in oncological surgery, abdominal explores, and other complex soft tissue procedures. He has advanced experience with TPLO’s and FHO’s while treating orthopedic patients with a refined, pragmatic approach.
Joel Alsup is currently settled in Connecticut with his family and is excited to join our Boston West family and serve our referring community. He will be available for appointments Monday through Wednesday.
