Sepsis and Polytrauma Biomarker Sample Study
Now Enrolling PatientsStudy Overview
The primary goal is to understand how these biomarkers relate to each other and to determine if they can predict the health outcomes of the dogs. Blood samples will be collected daily during their hospitalization. From these, biomarkers such as Histone H3.1, C-reactive protein (CRP), and serum amyloid A (SAA) will be evaluated. Researchers aim to uncover the relationships between nucleosome concentrations, acute phase proteins, and coagulation factors. The findings from this study are expected to enhance our understanding of sepsis and trauma in dogs. This could potentially lead to the development of better treatments in the future, improving the prognosis and care for dogs with these conditions.
