AUBURN – If you are active military or retired, and still have a desire to serve and a craving for adventure, Nan Thompson’s nonprofit group Jungle Hearts wants you.
Ms. Thompson, along with Auburn residents Chris Bernier, Patty Domenick and Christopher Domenick, a senior at Auburn High School, recently returned from a 10-day Jungle Hearts volunteer mission in Sani, Ecuador. Now Ms. Thompson is organizing another adventure to the same area for the fall of 2017.
Ms. Thompson, from Millbury, founded Jungle Hearts in 2012 to support Auburn Middle School’s annual service trip to the Amazon. This was her group’s first of a series of independent expeditions to the region.
Ms. Thompson, who in her day job is a veterinary technician at Boston West Veterinary Emergency and Specialty hospital in Natick, is recruiting volunteers for her next trip in September 2017.
