About
Dr. Suzy Kwon has always appreciated nature and with it, animals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes. This inspired her to earn two B.S. degrees in Ecology and Biochemistry and to work on ecological restoration and biotechnological research projects aimed at environmental preservation. She wanted to have a more direct impact on her community with her work, which led her to work in the veterinary field. She started working at wildlife rehabilitation centers, her local small animal and exotics shelter, and a local small animal general practice. She earned her veterinary degree in Edinburgh, Scotland and moved back to the United States to complete her small animal rotating internship in San Diego, California. During her internship, she found a passion for emergency medicine and critical care. She is a happy addition to the VERC team and hopes to help the kama’aina community by providing compassionate care, fostering their human animal bonds, and caring for injured wildlife.
In her free time, she enjoys going to the local farmer’s markets, surfing, climbing, volunteering at wildlife centers and beach clean-ups, and spending time with her partner and Labrador mix named Nalla.
