Dr. Barrella grew up on Long Island, New York and achieved her Bachelor’s degree at Long Island University, C.W. Post campus in Biology. She worked full time in a large emergency and specialty practice on Long Island before attending veterinary school at Ross University. Preclinical studies were done on St. Kitts, and her clinical rotations were performed at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She participated in a year long rotating internship in CT that incorporated two emergency/specialty hospitals and one general practice. She then completed a three year residency in emergency and critical care at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA before joining the team at Bulger Veterinary Hospital in 2016.
