Dr. Natasha Stanke is a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2015. Dr. Stanke enjoys the variety and unique challenges that both soft tissue and orthopedic veterinary surgery offer. She has a particular interest in advanced urogenital surgery, thoracic surgery, reconstructive surgery, fracture repair, and minimally invasive procedures such as arthroscopy and laparoscopy.
Dr. Stanke was inspired at a young age to pursue a career helping animals and humans, following in the footsteps of her grandfather who was a Fish and Game Information Educator. Dr. Stanke attended undergraduate school and later earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis in 2008. Dr. Stanke completed a Rotating Small Animal Internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA 2008-2009. Dr. Stanke completed her 3-year Small Animal Surgical Residency at BluePearl Veterinary Partners, Tampa, FL 2010-2013. Following her residency, Dr. Stanke practiced surgery at busy private practice hospitals in Michigan and Florida. In the Fall of 2018, Dr. Stanke journeyed back to San Diego to rejoin the VSH surgical team.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Stanke is an avid scuba diver, a student hot-air balloon pilot, and mediocre but persistent gardener. Dr. Stanke enjoys relaxing with her retired blood-donor cat Cousteau and her petite but feisty chihuahua Brewster.
