Dr. Nako Shinohara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 2000. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, in 2004. She completed a one year internship at Angell-Western New England. Dr. Shinohara joined Bulger Veterinary Hospital in 2005.
Dr. Shinohara completed training with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2012. She enjoys incorporating acupuncture to conventional, western therapies. Dr. Shinohara sees both general practice and emergency cases at Bulger, and enjoys caring for dogs and cats, as well as exotic pets.
