Dr. Cronin grew up in New York and at an early age decided that her dream career was to be a veterinarian. After obtaining her DVM degree in 1990 at Cornell, she went on to pursue a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC and then spent one year in private practice in MA. She then realized that her passion was for oncology and went to NCSU to pursue a residency in medical oncology. She became board certified in medical oncology in 1996. She spent three years as a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and then three years at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. In 2001, she co-founded The New England Veterinary Oncology Group in Waltham, MA which become a Blue Pearl Veterinary Partner in 2016. While at NEVOG, she supervised the training of multiple oncology residents and was actively involved in clinical trials. She joined the team at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in February 2020.
