Dr. Summers pursued a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Afterwards, she attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and spent her clinical year at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  Following vet school, she underwent an internship at the American Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in Manhattan, NY before joining the team at Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital as an emergency veterinarian.

During her spare time, she enjoys cooking, exploring and relaxing!  You can also find her at other local veterinary hospitals to maintain her primary care veterinary skills.
