Dr. Alexander, a native of the Richmond area, received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1994 (Biochemistry and Nutrition) and his DVM from VMRCVM in 1998. After seven years in private practice, he continued his training at VCU in addition to completing a Masters of Public Health in 2008. He followed up with a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences (Veterinary Medical Informatics) from VMRCVM in 2015. After a two-year fellowship at VCU, Dr. Alexander joined the team at TOS. He has received several awards for his work related to Veterinary Information Systems and Public Health research. Dr. Alexander’s clinical interests include adopting and integrating innovative technologies to advance veterinary diagnoses and treatments.
In his spare time, Dr. Alexander enjoys spending time with his wife and 2-year-old, as well as playing goalie for his rec-level ice hockey team. In addition, he is an avid Virginia Tech football and basketball fan. Go Hokies!
