Giselle Trainor received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Ida College where she studied Veterinary Technology. Throughout her schooling Giselleworked in both general practice and emergency specialty hospitals before starting an internship rotating through various departments at MVRH. In January of 2010 Giselle started in the emergency service before transferring a few months later to the surgery service in April. Upon completion of her degree in May 2010 she became a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Giselle continued to work in the surgery department as it grew to a five-surgeon department and was promoted to Assistant Technician Supervisor in 2013. During this time Giselle also returned to Mount Ida College as an adjunct faculty member from 2011 to 2016. The combination of the positions allowed Giselle to pursue both her skills as a technician but also her passion for teaching. Due to her increased interest in the management aspect of the hospital, Giselle applied and was accepted into the Management Trainee Program developed through the Learning and Development Department in 2015 and was promoted to Hospital Services Manager of the Surgical Services later the same year.
As Hospital Services Manager, Giselle oversees the Surgery, Radiology, and Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation services as well as the operational aspect of the Veterinary Assistant Program. In this role, Giselle is responsible for the overall operation of each department including staff development and customer service. Combining her passion for medicine with her interest in management and teaching has made this position a great fit.
When not at work, Giselle enjoys spending time year-round with her family including her dog Mandy and various other small pets in need of adoption. You can usually find her in the summer kayaking, fishing, and going to the beach and during the colder months staying warm cooking or reading.
