Anisha Jambhekar

DVM, DACVIMVeterinary Internist

Dr. Jambhekar received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences in 2009 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2012, both from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Jambhekar completed a rotating small animal medicine/surgery internship at Louisiana State University (LSU) in June 2013, as well as a small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in July 2016. During her residency, she conducted research in the field of metabolomics, an emerging field important for disease detection/biomarker development.

What she enjoys most about working at WVRC…“I realized how much I like internal medicine during my clinical rotations in veterinary school. This specialty also allows me to build relationships with the families of the pets I treat.”

Gastrointestinal disease – especially protein-losing enteropathy – and immune-mediated disease
